Like the personality of a child, a school’s culture takes time to mature.
Yet as Carolyn Clark Elementary School wraps up its first full year of operation this place is humming like a well-oiled machine—with an experienced, well-liked administrator at the helm, enthusiastic teachers working for him and supportive parents rounding out the equation.
With that winning combination—in a new facility with up-to-date equipment and easy access to technology—the students are bound to benefit.

| One song: Celebrating diversity through visual and performing arts By Bea Baechle

Don’t suggest that visual and performing arts are “fluff” around Bernadette Marcias, a fifth grade teacher at Carolyn Clark Elementary School.
She openly shares her passion for the visual and performing arts, including photography and dance, with her students. If they didn’t know how to operate a digital camera, they learned during the first week of school. Can’t dance? Marcias incorporates dance into her physical education program from the start. Read
