Mt. Pleasant, Evergreen Valley headed to State Track and Field Championships;
Silver Creek falls just short of state qualifying marks at CCS Finals

Members of both the Mt. Pleasant and Evergreen Valley track and field teams are headed to the 2007 CIF State Track and Field Championships after finishing in the top three in their respective events at CCS Finals on May 25.
All told, eight Cardinals, led by standouts Jeneba Tarmoh, Vashti Thomas, Stella Dugall and Matt Brown, will represent the school. Evergreen, meanwhile, will be represented by two athletes in Golde Ibia and CCS boys’ triple jump champion Nathan Goodrich. The athletes began Read more...

| Cortese and constituents take annual bus trip to state legislature

On May 24, Vice Mayor Dave Cortese and 27 of his constituents and staff boarded a bus for a two-hour trip to Sacramento.
As was the case in past years, the group went to the state capital to discuss a host of issues with a number of assembly members, senators and/or their staff.
