Frank Biehl appointed to MetroED Governing Board

At its Dec. 13 Govern-ing Board meeting, Frank Biehl was appointed by the East Side Union High School District Board to serve as a board member for the Metropolitan Education District. Biehl’s first meeting with MetroED will be Jan. 23, 2008.

MetroED consists of two programs—Central County Occupational Center (CCOC) and the Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP) and is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that serves six high school districts: Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District, Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, San Jose Unified School District, Milpitas Unified, and the Santa Clara Unified School District. Each JPA district appoints a Govern-ing Board member to serve as a representative on MetroED’s Board for a two year term.

Biehl was elected to the ESUHSD Governing Board in 2006 and has lived in East San Jose since 1990. Biehl’s two sons attend ESUHSD schools and Biehl has served as School Site Council president for three years and also served as a parent representative on the ESUHSD Budget Task Force in 2005. Prior to being ap-pointed as MetroED’s Board representative, Biehl served as an alternate board member on the MetroED Board.
