Villages Amateur Theatre performs light up the stage
(From left) “Saloon Girls” Geri Zeri, Jeanne Broenen, Mary Fran Ballard and Pat Williams thrilled the Cribari Center audiences at The Villages with their songs, costumes and flirtations with the Gold Miners in Alaska Al’s Saloon during their November performances of “Alaska or The Secret of Yonder Mountain.”
Playing to capacity crowds who responded with cheers, applause and singing, many say that the colorful production under the direction of Jean Donovan was the V.A.T.’s most successful offering ever.
The next major V.A.T. production, a mini-musical called “Anna and the King of Spam,” will be performed Friday, Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m., in the Cribrari Center. Monica Facchino and Nadine Tubbs will be directing.
