Evergreen Balvihar commemorates five-year anniversary
with performance, competitions

Evergreen Balvihar, a nonprofit educational organization, recently celebrated its five-year anniversary with an annual production that represented the evolution of the first four years of performances.

Students from Evergreen Balvihar celebrated their five-year anniversary with a performance that represented the evolution of their first four years of performances.

The event—sponsored by the Arts Council Silicon Valley, California Arts Council, Office Depot, Headway Technologies and several local vendors—focused on the first two years of performances in the first half of the program and the third and fourth years of performances in the second half of the program.

Because the five-year anniversary was such an important milestone for the organization, Evergreen Balvihar conducted competitions in classical and non-classical music, speech, drawing and essay writing to augment the program. IBM sponsored the competitions. They also honored their music teacher Smt. Krishna Kumari Yedidha.

Evergreen Balvihar has been serving the Evergreen community through classes in Indian arts and languages for the past 5 years. It is located at 3560 Kettmann Road, San Jose, Calif., 95121. Office hours are 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For more information, go to www.evergreen-balvihar.org or contact President Prathibha Lolabattu via e-mail at lolabattu@yahoo.com or by calling (408) 398-7525 or (408) 223-2984.
