It was an evening to remember at the Sirs, Branch 114, Christmas dinner this year.
"On behalf of the Evergreen Valley Choir, we wish you a very, very, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You have been an absolutely wonderful Audience," said Dr. Betty Ann Owren, Director of the Evergreen Valley College
Choir.
The grand evening then concluded with the traditional "Silent Night, Holy Night," at the Sons In Retirement (SIRS), Branch 114, annual Christmas Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Villages Clubhouse. Whoever thought of asking this talented group to perform for this event certainly deserves something special from Santa Claus!
Carla Ward, pianist, accompanied them for the evening, and she played wonderfully as well. They brought up the curtain on the Christmas Season, and brought down the house for the record-breaking number of members and guests that attended the annual event.
The program for the evening was "Christmas Carols and Lullabies from Around the Land," and members and guests were asked to join in for part of the singing of "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Hark, The Herald Angels
Sing."
Song sheets were distributed to guests, who really did join in, in the true Christmas spirit. It was a memorable performance and evening to begin the Christmas season. |
