11/19: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
2000 block of Mandelay Place
The suspects showed up to a house party uninvited. After refusing to leave, they began fighting with the homeowner. The victim sustained a cut to the head after having a bottle smashed over his head. The suspects vandalized another victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene. Three of four suspects were taken into custody and booked at county jail.
11/21: Malicious Mischief
1600 block of Jessica Way
Police responded to the above location on the report of a “blown up” mailbox. Unknown suspects took some type of fireworks and placed them in the victim’s mailbox and then set them on fire. There was no evidence left at the scene. A bomb tech officer responded for post-blast assistance. There are no suspects at this time.
11/22: Robbery
1700 E. Capitol/Aborn
At the listed date and time, a Brinks truck guard was robbed at gunpoint as he delivered money at the Bank of America at Capitol/Aborn. A male adult wearing a grey hood over his face took a bag of money out of the Brinks truck and the guard’s handgun. The suspect was last seen running southbound across Capitol Expressway.
11/26: Labor Dispute
Eastridge Mall
During an on-going labor dispute at Eastridge Mall, 100 picketers stationed themselves at every mall entrance. The Fire Department was called to handle helium tanks. There were no major issues.
11/30: Bank Robbery
3300 block of San Felipe
A robbery occurred at Wells Fargo Bank. A male adult walked in and passed a demand note to the teller. The suspect fled with an unknown amount of money.
12/1: Possible Armed Robbery
1800 block of Tustin Dr.
A resident called 911 and reported his neighbor told him he had been robbed at gunpoint inside his home across the street. The victim called for a friend to come and pick him up and he left the area. Police found the victim’s house open and ransacked. The victim left the scene before police arrived and could not be interviewed. Some evidence was collected and the home was secured. Area hospitals were checked in an attempt to locate the victim. A report was taken.
Later that day:
The victim came home and was interviewed by dayshift patrol officers. The victim stated that he was home on Nov. 30 when unknown suspects entered his house with guns. They took money and his car after ransacking his house. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle and are still outstanding. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention.
