Concern over EVHS teacher’s arrest
Dear editor,
When I hear the word teacher, I think of a trustworthy, responsible, and moral individual. This is why I am shocked every time I hear of these awful incidents where teachers are caught breaking the law.
I recently read the article by Carol Rosen in regards to Evergreen Valley High School teacher Thomas Ferraro getting arrested. Ferraro was arrested for unlawfully videotaping a person using a concealed camera while they were undressing. It is really quite scary to think that Ferraro, a trusted authority figure to young teens, would have such disturbing extra-curricular activities. I am a senior at San Jose State University and as a student in general have had some really memorable teachers. Ones I look up to and admire greatly.
It saddens me to think about the doubt this may put in students minds about ever trusting a teacher again.
