Villages uphold decade old holiday tradition
The Villages Golf and Country Club, a senior community of over 4000 residents in the Evergreen area of San Jose, hosts a generous Breakfast with Santa Claus each December for the children of its employees.
The much anticipated event, held on Dec.1 this year, has become a decade long tradition. Each year children enjoy a quick breakfast, festive music, and a visit with Santa Claus himself. Santa has a special personalized gift prepared by his Villages resident elves for each child in attendance. Photo opportunities abound.
General Manager, Darren Shaw, notes that this annual event is completely funded and sponsored by the generosity of resident donations.
If you would like more information on the Breakfast with Santa, please contact Ileana Matei at 408 223-4642 or email her at imatei@the-villages.com.
Nutcracker Teas... especially for the little ones
You won’t want your children to miss this opportunity to meet characters from the show and sit down to a fun-filled afternoon following designated matinee performances of “The Nutcracker”. Join us in the Club Regent Room of the Fairmont Hotel for face painters, balloon artists, and “Maria’s toy shop”...a special holiday boutique for those last minute holiday gifts. The Fairmont will present a tradition “Hi-Tea” and a no host bar, with champagne cocktails and wine.
Adults: $50; Children: $30. Teas will follow the Children’s (one-hour) Matinee on Friday, Dec. 21 (Tea begins at approximately 3 p.m.) and following the full length matinee on Sunday, Dec. 22 (Tea begins at approximately 4 p.m.). The matinee performances of “The Nutcracker” both begin at 1:30 p.m.
