Girl Scouts thank military personnel
It’s holiday season, the time of giving. This year, that is greatly represented through Girl Scout troop 60723. This group of 8th grade girls – Bridget King, Kaitlyn Kennedy, Rukhsar Palla, Claudia Chan, Daziah Arias and Uma Kolluri has sent greeting cards to troops overseas through Operation Holiday Cards. The girls sent a total of 220 cards, each including letters wishing the recipient well, thanking them for their service and giving them a taste of life back home by describing activities important to the girls. These cards will reach troops serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. What these girls are doing is a great example of why it is better to give than to receive.
