Strong hands but soft hearts give back to the community

Relieve holiday stress with a massage while helping needy families

The holiday season is upon us, but many families in our own community cannot afford to celebrate.

San Jose massage therapists Robert Vignoli and Doreen Jattan of Get Results Therapy are hosting two massage-a-thons to benefit the Adopt-A-Family Program.

San Jose massage therapists Robert Vignoli and Doreen Jattan of Get Results Therapy would like to assist some of these families through the annual Adopt-A-Family Program.

To help raise funds for needy families and offer a holiday reprieve for Evergreen residents, they’ve organized two massage-a-thons on Sunday, Nov. 27, and Sunday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. to raise money for the 13 children they’ve “adopted” for the holiday season.

All proceeds will be donated to the Adopt-A-Family Program, which is a joint effort of the Santa Clara County Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Committee and the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services.

Administered by the Child Abuse Prevention Center, the program matches organizations and individuals with less fortunate families to “adopt” for the holidays.

“By participating in this program you really do make dreams come true,” said Jattan. Here’s an opportunity for you to give and receive. Make an appointment for a 50-minute massage for $60.”

Get Results Therapy will take the proceeds and purchase much needed gifts for these families, such as a futon bunk bed for a family where kids are currently sleeping on the floor. Another family needs dining chairs so they can have meals with the family. A grandmother wishes to get gift certificates for local restaurants where she and her chronically ill granddaughter can dine and build lasting memories together.
