Curves in Evergreen to sponsor donor drive for Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence has been named as the beneficiary for a holiday gift drive sponsored by Curves in Evergreen, located on 4878 San Felipe Road, Suite 110 in San Jose.

From Nov. 1 through Dec. 13, the women's fitness center will be accepting donations of new and unwrapped gifts for victims of domestic violence and their children. As an incentive, Curves in Evergreen's owner, operator, and local resident Cristie Burr will be offering donors that bring a gift to Curves in Evergreen a special discount on the sign-on fee and one month free for new members. Restrictions may apply.

"Women are less likely to talk about domestic violence compared to other issues," said Missy Jakubs, Curves manager and holiday gift drive coordinator. "This is our way of helping these women and their children this holiday season."

Gift suggestions for mothers, infants, children, and teens include new toys, blankets, sports equipment, handbags, school supplies, sweaters, bath towels, and gift certificates. Donations collected by Curves in Evergreen will be presented to Next Door Solutions prior to the December holiday.

The public is invited to drop off their donations to Curves in Evergreen on San Felipe Road Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m.; Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 7 a.m.- noon and 3 p.m.- 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 7 a.m.- 11 a.m.

According to the National Center for Victims of Crime, one in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
