Evergreen Area Police report

Oct. 26,
Stolen vehicle

S. King Rd/Tully Rd.
Officers located a reported stolen vehicle occupied by an adult male. Officers followed the vehicle to the area of Jeanine Marie/Winifred Dr., where the vehicle was recovered and the suspect taken into custody without incident.

Robbery/purse snatch

Quimby/White
The female victim was walking home when two male suspects pulled her purse from her by force, causing her to fall, hit her head and become unconscious. One suspect was arrested after a follow-up investigation by officers. The other suspect is unidentified and at large. The victim’s injuries are not life threatening.

Oct. 28
Carjacking

1800 block of Capitol Expressway
The victim was seated inside of his
vehicle while parked in the Wendy’s restaurant parking lot. Two male adult suspects approached the victim’s vehicle. One of the suspects forced the victim out of his vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects fled westbound on Capitol Expressway. The victim’s vehicle was later recovered in the area of Scottsdale and Everdale Drive. The victim did not sustain any injuries. The suspects are outstanding.

Oct. 28
Robbery, assault with a deadly weapon

King/Flanigan  
A 19-year-old victim was leaving 7-11 with beer. Four to six Hispanic male adult suspects approached. The suspects then beat and stabbed the victim twice and took his beer. The suspects fled on foot and in a car. The suspects have not been arrested or identified. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

Residential burglary arrest update
Following the arrest of suspect Susan Hjeltness, who has been booked on four counts of residential burglary and four counts of possession of stolen property in connection with a string of residential burglaries in the Silver Creek area (see Oct. 21 – Nov. 3 issue of the Evergreen Times), burglary investigators from the San Jose Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for suspect John Chacon on Oct. 19 in connection with these same crimes. The warrant is in the amount of $1,500,000 and charges Chacon with five felony counts of residential burglary and one felony count of grand theft. It is believed that Chacon is driving a 1996 Nissan pick-up truck, white in color, with the California license plate 5H52972. His current whereabouts are unknown.
