Ballot initiatives discussed at Republican Club
By Lou and Annette Rosenberg
Special to the Times
On October 24, The Republican Club at The Villages hosted Dr. Gloria Hom and members of the Evergreen School District in a discussion of the November ballot initiatives. Following an outstanding dinner at the Villages Clubhouse, Dr. Hom, the former Chairman of the Economics Department at Mission College in Santa Clara, presented a detailed analysis of the State ballot propositions simplifying the sometimes confusing arguments for and against each initiative.
Clif Black, Superintendent of the Evergreen School District, along with Gary Kishimoto, Director of Pupil Services, and Jim Crawford, Assistant Superintendent in charge of Finance, discussed the importance of the Evergreen K-8 school modernization effort—Measure I on the ballot.
Each presentation, coupled with a question and answer session, was enthusiastically received by over 120 Villagers and guests in attendance.
