What do you think about the city council’s desire to filter out porn from public library computers?
(Asked at the Evergreen Branch Library)
“ It’s perfect. It [pornography] doesn’t add anything and its not something I feel is necessary at the library. If people really want to view it there are other ways to access it. Besides, the library is paid for by our tax dollars, which I don’t feel should be used for pornography.”

“I think that the library is a public place and that material on the computer should be appropriate for all ages. If it’s[pornography] allowed it creates a weird atmosphere for some people.”

It’s a political issue and I am neutral.”

“I strongly agree with the idea because of the minors that are around the library. It creates problems. They’ve done research and sexual offenders always start off with pornography.”

“I think it’s a great idea because the children come to the library and we don’t want them to have access to that type of thing."

“I think it’s an excellent idea. The kids use the computers and often they aren’t supervised or [are working] by themselves [without a parent].”
