After Chief Davis’ presentation, the SIRs members and guests took full advantage of the opportunity to present questions to this personable police chief of the 10th largest city in the United States.

Chief Davis is a graduate of Branham High School and San Jose State University. He also holds a graduate degree in public administration from Golden Gate University and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.

In his presentation, Chief Davis spoke of the soon-to-be built San Jose Police Substation located near Hitachi in South San Jose and the competition that the department faces from other police departments in the state that can offer more affordable housing opportunities.

He also pointed out that a large percentage of police officers will become eligible for retirement in the next five years and the fact that San Jose was recently named the safest big city in the country.

Despite his youthful appearance, Chief Davis has been a San Jose police officer since 1980 and served as chief of police since January 2004.
