The Republican Club General Meeting was held on Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Foothill Center. It was an enthusiastic and involved audience of approximately 80 people who heard four speakers.
The main speaker was Assemblyman Ray Haynes (R) representing District 66 in Southern California. Assemblyman Haynes will be retiring after his term expires and presented some very interesting insights. He stressed the need to vote "yes" on Proposition 90, which provides protection for the private landowners against unfair government practices to seize their property.
The three other speakers were:
Ignacio Velazquez, candidate for the 28th District State Assembly seat, who presented his platform.
Judge Dolores Carr, Candidate for District Attorney, discussed her campaign and what to expect.
Governor Schwarzen-egger’s representative, Paul Higgens, discussed the campaign being waged by the Governor.
The common theme of all the candidates was to “get out and vote” and furthermore, take 25 people with you!
A “support the troops project,” with care packages was also announced. There will be more information forthcoming at future meetings.
