His Eagle Court of Honor was held on August 25 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church. Local family and friends, as well as his grandparents from Bellingham Washington, attended the ceremony. Bryan is a 3rd generation Eagle Scout - his grandfather, Gerald Worth, 1951, his father, Greg Worth, 1971, his brother, Kevin Worth, 2001, and now Bryan in 2006.
Bryan's Eagle service project involved the design and construction of a 12x20-foot shade shelter built at Metcalf Motorcycle County Park in San Jose. After riding his dirt bike at the park for the past five years, Bryan worked with local ranger Mike Ruhstorfer to find a project that would improve the park for other riders. Over four weekends, he managed the work of many scouts, friends, and adults in setting the foundation, rough framing, roofing, and painting the shelter. The project was the last step in completing his Eagle and it was finished in January of this year.
Bryan and his family have been Evergreen residents for almost 22 years. He attended Laurelwood Elementary School and Chaboya Middle School, and was a Cub Scout in Pack 264 before moving into Boy Scout Troop 251. Bryan finished his senior year at Evergreen Valley High School in June and is now attending Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a major in Mechanical Engineering. |
