Evergreen “Green” Show House Featured at West Coast Green
Created by Daniel Mackey Construction Incorporated, the award-winning green show house located in Evergreen (pictured above) was featured in a case study to feature the potential existing homes have to achieve energy efficiency through testing and the incorporation of sustainable products and design. Utilizing the Green Point Rating System from Build It Green, energy leaks were identified and corrected even after the home remodel was completed.

The Daniel Mackey Construction show house was presented at a Remodeler’s Panel featuring improvements that are possible for existing homes as opposed to new construction.
The Evergreen show house features a slate-looking roof made from recycled tires, floors heated by a solar panel, energy efficient lighting, low VOC (volatile organic compound) paint, closed cell foam insulation, sustainable wood cabinetry and flooring, artificial grass made from recycled materials and many other green features and products.
Dan Mackey, owner of Daniel Mackey Construction Incorpor-ated, is a Certified Remodeler, Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler and Certified Green Building Professional. Chris Donatelli, owner of Chris Don-atelli builders is a certified Green Point Rater and completed the testing of the show house.
West Coast Green represents the largest milestone yet in the green innovation movement and was held at the San Jose Convention Center September 25 - 27.
