San Jose native Brig. General Eldon P. Regua takes command of Army Reserve’s
104th Division headquartered in Historic Vancouver Barracks
In traditional military fashion with cannon fire rendering honors, flags waving and soldiers standing tall, the command of the Army Reserve’s 104th Division headquartered in Historic Vancouver Barracks, Vancouver, Wash., formally changed hands on Sept. 7, handing the reins of command to San Jose native Brig. Gen Eldon P. Regua.

Moffett at an award ceremony held Sept. 6 in Vancouver, Wash. for his distinguished service during his tenure working for Moffett as the Division Chief of Staff and Assistant Division Commander. |
Regua, 52, took command of the ceremony under a bright blue Saturday morning sky, succeeding Maj. Gen. Terrill K. Moffett, 58, who has commanded the unit since June 2003. Moffett retired after 36 years of military service.
Regua has a Master of Business Administration degree from Chapman University and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He became Chief of Staff of the 104th in 2003 and then assistant division commander in 2005.
Regua attended schools in the Evergreen and Silver Creeks areas, including Thomas P. Ryan, Clyde L. Fischer and Quimby Oak Middle Schools, Silver Creek High School and Santa Clara University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in Accounting.
Soldiers across the unit’s area of responsibility, including the 12 western states and Hawaii, were represented at the ceremony in addition to nearly 20 general officers from around the region. Lt. Gen. Jack C. Stultz, Commanding General of the nearly 200,000 soldiers that make up the entire US Army Reserve, was the reviewing officer.
Vancouver Barracks, the home of the headquarters of the 104th Division, was established in 1848 and is the oldest continuous operating Army installation west of the Mississippi.
