Jack Leathers, a Villages resident, the Sons in Retirement, Branch 114 at their luncheon meeting at the Clubhouse on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Leathers discussed his career in the United States Air Force, his experiences flying the B-47 and his work on the staff of General Curtis E. LeMay, the legendary Commander of the Strategic Air Command, at Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, Nebraska.

Charles T. “Chappie” Chapman, a Villages resident, is all smiles here as he is honored at the Sons in Retirement, Branch 114 Luncheon, at the Clubhouse on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Chapman was honored for his more than 10 years of membership and service to SIRS, Branch 114.
Chapman is a native of Canyon City, Colorado and is a graduate of St. Mary’s College in San Antonio, Texas. His military career was as a pilot with the United States Army Air Corps in World War II and later with the United States Air Force. His civilian career was as a pilot with United Air Lines. He rounded out his career with UAL by piloting the Boeing 747 from San Francisco to Hawaii for two years before retiring in 1972.
