ESUHSD NEWS BRIEFS
Election 2004
Listen to ESUHSD board candidates in public forum Sept. 11
The California School Employees Association (CSEA) will host a public forum for candidates seeking election to the East Side Union High School District board of trustees at CSEA state headquarters, 2045 Lundy Ave., San Jose, on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. The moderator for this event will be Dave Cortese, City Councilman for District 8.
The prospective candidates will be asked to answer a series of questions emanating from the concerns of students, parents and labor organizations. The agenda will encompass the financial waning of funds; the attempt to balance the budget, resulting in layoffs for administrative personnel and an arguable apportion of classified positions ; and the prosperity and effectiveness of future plans for a district servicing approximately 24,000 students.
CSEA Chapter 187, which represents more than 700 members in classified positions, will take an interest in endorsing promising candidates who believe and commit to increasing participation of students, parents and labor organizations for the realization of a solid, progressive district.
The community is encouraged to attend and submit written questions to Filiberto Zamora, CSEA Chapter 187 President—East Side Union High School District, 830 N. Capitol Ave. San Jose, Calif. 95133- 1316; he can also be reached at 506- 6516.
