| Children’s Musical Theater San Jose Artistic Director Kevin R. Hague and Executive Director Jennifer S. Hull attended the Gala tribute in Hague’s honor held on July 31 at the San Jose Repertory Theater. Attendees also included former Executive Director Michael Mulcahy. |
He has had a tremendous influence on the lives of thousands of young people, and has inspired many young performers to pursue a professional career in the arts, both on and off stage. Through speeches and performances, people honored Hague for his work as a leader, choreographer, director, mentor and friend.
Under his artistic leadership, CMTSJ has earned recent grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, awards from the National Association for Theater Educators, received the rights to produce several non-equity, West Coast and Bay Area premiers, numerous commendations and special recognitions from both local and national politicians and thousands of “Thank You’s” from kids and families whose lives he’s touched.
Hague’s incredible creativity and high standards for excellence for the young performers at CMT has allowed the organization to grow, thrive and excel to become a nationally-recognized and well-respected theater.
Hague firmly believes that theater for youth is an art form unto itself. His is a highly unique formula that incorporates not just strong professional artistic leadership, but a blending of a variety of youth development techniques which result in the beautiful productions produced on the Montgomery Theater stage in San Jose.
