Clean, Green Evergreen

Evergreen residents interested in solar energy had the opportunity to interact with vendors to discuss the costs and pros and cons of the alternative energy source.

D8 residents talking to an Akeena Solar Representative.

Clean. Green Evergreen and Involved Evergreen sponsored a meeting held Wednesday, Aug 20 at Evergreen Village Square for potential customers and suppliers. Several hundred people listened to and questioned the vendors who had responded to a request for quote from the Evergreen community.

The results of the meeting will be discussed at the next meeting of Clean, Green Evergreen scheduled for Aug 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Evergreen Valley College. Other topics on the agenda will be the formation of buying groups, an evaluation panel with San Jose State, and ideas for promoting Evergreen as a center for energy development activities,

Please confirm your attendance at michael_j_alvarado@earthlink.net to ensure that enough chairs, meeting materials, etc. are available.

A Yahoo Group has been set up for the community to facilitate discussion, evaluate vendors, check credentials, and share about how well the systems are installed and how satisfied are community residents with those solutions. This forum can also encompasses all alternate energy topics even while it has initially been focused on solar.

You can join the group by going to the main web page:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SiliconValleyworkforce and clicking the link that reads "join this group" (if you're already a member of the group you will not see the link). In an effort to control spammers, membership requests are approved by the owner/moderators and we will be looking for your rationale for joining the group before the request will be approved. You can enter this in the window on the "join this group" page.
