The festivities, all free and open to the public, will kick off with plenty of activities for younger children. On Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., parents can bring their children to Eastridge for a variety of fun and educational programs, including a Noggin Photo Party with Moose and Zee, the animated hosts of the popular Noggin Channel.
Located on the Lower Level in Center Court, the Photo Party will give visitors each day a free Polaroid photo and Noggin photo frame to take home as souvenirs. Moose and Zee can be seen on Noggin everyday on Comcast Cable, Channel 120.
Representatives from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Children’s Discovery Museum will be on hand with plenty of fun, interactive displays and activities for children. Balloon artists will keep children delighted and kids will be treated to Story Time by Red Robin.
Entertainment continues on Sunday, Aug. 21, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Yoko’s Dance & Performing Arts Academy. Other entertainment will include a high-energy performance by the girls from Cheer with a Twist.
Aug. 27 for teens
Eastridge rolls out “The Scene” on Saturday, Aug. 27 for its teenage patrons. The Scene will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and is designed to showcase entertainment and lifestyle activities for today’s trendiest teens, age 12 and up.
Eastridge is partnering with Pepsi for The Scene, an award-winning back-to-school teen event, now in its sixth year. Teens can register for free at Eastridge to get a blue “The Scene” wristband, which allows them to participate in a variety of activities and enters them in a contest to win prizes, including iPods minis, concert tickets, gift cards and more.

Teens can try their luck with a turn at the Pepsi Prize Wheel. The Scene also will feature fashion shows from this fall’s hottest styles in the Lower Level Center Court. MAC will provide complimentary makeovers and artists will be there to create airbrush tattoos and extreme balloon hats.
Music and excitement will fill the mall with morning drive disc jockey Strawberry from WILD 94.9, who will be in Center Court with his street team playing music and giving away compact discs and other prizes.
“Eastridge’s interactive mall experience continues to build and enhance one-on-one relationships with the all-important teen consumer,” said Alice Lam, assistant marketing manager for Eastridge.
Eastridge is located at 2200 Eastridge Loop, San Jose, Calif., 95122, near Capitol Expressway and Tully Road. For more information and a complete schedule of events, call (408) 238-3600 or go to the Web site: www.eastridgecenter.com.
