Evergreen’s Courtney Chin recognized by Kohl's Kids Who Care scholarship program

Kohl's South San Jose Assistant Store Manager Emma Navasartian, Courtney Chin, and San Jose Dance Theatre's Phylis Dougherty.

Each and every day, kids across the country are volunteering in their communities and making a difference in the lives of friends, neighbors and even strangers.

Through the Kohl's Kids Who Care scholarship program, Kohl's provides scholarships and gift cards to recognize and reward kids who volunteer.

Recently, Kohl's south San Jose department store recognized Evergreen’s Courtney Chin as their store winner and one of only two San Jose students to receive the honor.

Chin is a student at Evergreen Valley High School and a member of the class of 2008. Chin was nominated by Phylis Dougherty for her volunteer work at San Jose Dance Theatre, in the city of San Jose's Adopt-A-Park Program and volunteering with the non-profit Chinese American Citizen's Alliance.
