| Pedro Macedo, head chef and cook manager, fires up an authentic Mexican dish for a customer at the recently opened el Patron Restaurant on Silver Creek Valley Road just off of Yerba Buena Road. |
The long-awaited el Patron Mexican Grill & Cantina is open and ready to satisfy an appetite for authentic Mexican cooking and grilled food in the Silver Creek area of Evergreen.
Located at 5635 Silver Creek Valley Road in the Canyon Creek Plaza, el Patron is sure to please with original Mexican recipes, freshly squeezed margaritas, lunch and happy hour specials and a kid’s menu for the little amigos.
The friendly staff is led by a popular and generous fixture in the Evergreen community—Aldo Montufar, manager of MegaByte Pizza just a few doors down.
Most of the authentic Mexican food cooked at el Patron stems from Montufar’s own recipes. He says all the food is delicious, but he’s particularly proud of the chile verde—lean pork, sautéed with fresh roasted green chiles, tomatoes, onions and spices served with rice, refrito beans and tortillas.
Grilled steak, chicken, salmon and a fish of the day provide another alternative. Plenty of appetizers, side dishes, soups, salads and desserts complete the menu.
Happy hour is from 4 to 6 p.m. daily and from 10 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday. Drink specials include $4 house margaritas and $2 draft beers, with an appetizer menu available at the bar.
el Patron is open Sunday to Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight. Catering is also available. Call (408) 270-8900 for more information.
