Falls Creek Park opens

Eco-friendly park opens in Southeast Evergreen

Falls Creek Park, located on Falls Creek Drive off of San Felipe Road in southeast Evergreen, opened May 31. This one-acre park boasts an open-space turf area, walking paths, a picnic area under an overhead pergola and a play lot. Its low-maintenance design includes lawn that is configured for easy mowing and a "woodland garden" containing low-maintenance plants.

"This park is an excellent example of how we can continue to provide new and exciting recreational options for residents while balancing budgetary constraints," said vice-mayor Dave Cortese, adding, "The inclusion of environmentally-conscious design elements truly makes this park of the 21st century.”
