Center Stage Productions presents “Inherit the Wind,” the drama that was based on the famous Scopes Monkey trial that captured the Nation’s attention and sparked the debate over Creationism vs. Darwinism. We invite you to experience this timeless classic as it comes to life on our Willow Glen stage. “Inherit The Wind’s” story and thought-provoking subject matter is as captivating today as it was when it was written over 50 years ago. The show runs 10 performances, Thursday through Sunday, at the Center for Spiritual Living at in San Jose. The talented 19-member cast is directed by Bay Area actor-turned-director, Bryan Freeman, who is enjoying his third season with Center Stage Productions. The Billy De Frank Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center, 938 The Alameda in San Jose, hosts a weekly “Coming Out Group,” which offers a safe space to explore different subjects. Topics include how to come out to yourself, and how to comfortably live and work as a gay or lesbian in the larger community. All groups are run by trained facilitators in a closed door meeting room. The Children’s Discovery Museum celebrates the joy and diversity of American music in this hands-on, ears-on exhibit created by the Boston Children¹s Museum in partnership with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Get down with different musical styles from classical to country, hip-hop to rock. Step up to the podium and lead The Boston Pops symphony, jam with cool cats in a “jazz club” or become a hip-hop DJ and play percussion on a “city street.” Front a big band or strum guitars on a country music bus tour. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Sacred Heart Community Service needs teen or adult volunteers to tutor children grades 4 through 8 in mathematics, reading and computer skills, as well as accompanying students on weekly field trips at the Academic Summer Day Camp program. Tutors must be at least high school juniors and 16 years old. Adults and college students are welcome. High school sophomores may join with a recommendation letter from their high school principal.
