Coroner’s case
Rainwood/Centerwood

A 73-year-old female passed away from apparent natural causes. The coroner’s office authorized officers to field release the deceased to the family.

Negligent discharge of a firearm
Murillo / Slopeview

Officers responded to a firearm discharge call in the above residential area. Officers surrounded the house and contacted suspects via phone. After approximately 30 minutes the suspects exited the house and surrendered. The suspects admitted to firing their weapon, a 9-mm handgun in the backyard for target practice. The suspects were booked on the above charge.

Recovered stolen vehicle/ vehicle collision with injury
Nieman Boulevard/Milky Way

A single vehicle collision involving a stolen vehicle occurred on Nieman Boulevard at Milky Way. One occupant was ejected and trapped under the vehicle. The subject was alert but sustained major facial injuries. He was transported to VMC where he was treated for his injuries and admitted to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle was located at Regional Medical Center where he was treated for moderate injuries then booked into jail. Officers recovered the stolen vehicle.

Assault with a deadly weapon
Flanigan/Alvin

The victim was on foot and attacked by suspects driving a vehicle. Suspects beat and pistol-whipped the victim with a small handgun. The victim reported the crime at 10:30 p.m. The suspects are outstanding.
