65 years of marriage celebrated
Grant and Marjorie Waggoner of the Villages met while students at Kansas State University. Grant proposed marriage on Valentine’s Day; one year later Marjorie said yes.
On April 3, 2008, they celebrated 65 years of togetherness. A Holland America cruise to Mexico and a trip to Las Vegas were the venues for the commemoration. Cruising is one their favorite pastimes; they have traveled by ship to every continent and achieved special status from the cruise line.
Grant is a WW II veteran and retired engineer who worked on the first air-to-ground missile, the flying wing and the first ejection seat. Marjorie is a retired teacher. The Waggoners have two daughters, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
