April 6
Attempted Kidnapping on White and Alum Rock

At approximately 1:30 p.m., a male attempted to kidnap a 16-year-old girl as she was walking in the White Road and Alum Rock area of San Jose.

The man grabbed the victim and attempted to drag her inside his van. The victim successfully fought off her attacker and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” tall and approximately 40 years old, of average weight, light brown eyes, black hair, thick dark mustache, dark complexion with a mole on his right cheek. He had a thick black mustache; dark skin, short uncombed black hair, and spoke with a Mexican accent.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black van with tinted windows.

Assault with a deadly weapon

2400 Block of Alvin
An altercation occurred in the parking lot of the above location due to an auto collision. A fight ensued and an unknown suspect fired a gun. No victims were located at the scene.

3600 Block of Bridal Place Court
Officers responded to the above location on a report of someone being stabbed. The victim was located and transported to RMC Hospital for non-life threatening stab wounds. The fight began as a verbal altercation at the residence, and then spilled out into the street where the victim was subsequently stabbed. The unknown suspects fled in unknown vehicles and were not apprehended. The investigation is ongoing.

April 10
Student protest

Story Road/King Road
Approximately 100 students from various East Side High Schools walked out of school and staged a protest march against US immigration policies. The march started at Story/King Road and proceeded into the downtown area. They stopped at City Hall, SJSU and the federal courthouse. The march was orderly and there were no major problems. The TABS units along with patrol officers monitored the march and dealt with safety concerns.

April 11
Armed robbery

2500 Block of Glen Alma Way
The suspects created a ruse by rear-ending the victim’s vehicle. When the victims exited their car, the suspects approached, brandished a handgun and demanded their money. The victims stated the two Asian male adult suspects fired one round into the air. The suspects fled in a black Mercedes sedan eastbound on Glen Ascot Way. The take was a wallet containing cash and a cell phone. A canvass for witnesses was conducted. The investigation is ongoing.

April 11
Possession of a stolen firearm

Rigoletto Drive/Othello Avenue
Officers initiated an enforcement stop on the suspect vehicle for various vehicle code violations. The driver was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A vehicle and person search incident to arrest yielded a stolen handgun with an altered/defaced serial number, methamphetamine for sale, ecstasy for sale and narcotic paraphernalia. The suspect was booked into jail.

April 11
Armed robbery

2700 Block of Puccini Avenue
The victim walked outside of her house, where she was attacked from behind by two Hispanic female adults apparently hiding on the side of the house. The victim’s mother observed the attack and came to her daughter’s aid. One suspect struck the victim’s mother in the hand with an unknown blunt object. The suspects fled the scene. A perimeter was established and three suspects were detained. The victims were unable to identify their perpetrators. The victims refused medical attention at the scene.

April 15
Assault with a deadly weapon

2800 Block of Gavilan Ct.
Several victims were involved in a verbal altercation over gang affiliation. A short time later, subjects came to the area and fired a shotgun at the victims, striking three of them. There was no life threatening injuries. All suspects remain at large.

Assault with a deadly weapon

3700 Block of Brigadoon Way
Two adult males were stabbed multiple times after being chased by other adult males. The suspects fled the scene and are outstanding. One victim has life threatening injuries. The suspects confronted the victims over their gang affiliation.
