Evergreen residents turn out to benefit students
Local Kiwanis Clubs held a benefit for the Turnaround Scholarship Program on Wednesday, April 6, at the Villa Ragusa in Campbell.
The annual fundraiser this year brought together 10 clubs to raise money for students who have overcome major obstacles or difficulties and turned their personal and scholastic lives around. This year's benefit will support East Side Union, Campbell Union, San Jose Unified, Santa Clara Unified and Los-Gatos-Saratoga High School Districts.
Among those attending and donating money to help the students was a contingent from Evergreen, some of whom just happen to be members of the Willow Glen Sunrisers Kiwanis Club, including (above, from left) Eldred and Evelyn Kunkel, Dorothy (front) and Jim Crownover (standing left), Jerry Chapman (president of the club, far right) Micki Muir, and Gina Granada. |
