March 22
Robbery / purse snatch

Fourthplain Court / Yerba Buena
The victim was walking on Fourthplain Court when the suspect approached on foot and confronted her. The suspect forcibly wrestled the purse away from the victim and fled in a waiting nearby vehicle.

March 24
Strong arm robbery

Savemart, S. White/Aborn
The strong arm robbery occurred when a 16-year-old Hispanic male suspect took the purse from an 81-year-old female victim. Units arrived and located the suspect several blocks away. The suspect was taken into custody and the purse was recovered. The victim was not injured.

March 25
Strong arm robbery

1600 block Tully Road
An unknown male approached the victim and took her purse. When the victim tried to pull it back the suspect pushed the victim to the ground. The victim sustained a minor cut on the left side of her face. The suspect fled in a vehicle and remains at large.

Protest

City Hall
Groups of students from Eastside Union School District and San Jose Unified School District rallied in front of City Hall to protest the immigration Reform Bill. Crowd numbers varied from 50 to 350 throughout the day.

Strong arm robbery

Lyon’s Plaza Parking Lot
An adult female victim was accosted in the above parking lot and her purse was physically pulled off her shoulder. The suspect fled in a waiting vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries. The suspect is unknown and still outstanding at this time.

March 29
Suspicious person with a weapon

Norwood Creek Elementary School
The reporting party reported to Norwood Creek School that she had observed a group of kids walking past the school, one of which was armed with a handgun. The reporting party further reported that she had observed a female juvenile shooting the gun into a box, which was later disposed of in a neighbor's recycling bin. The school went into lock down. The box was located. It was determined that the weapon was an Airsoft pellet gun. The anonymous witness identified possible suspect(s) as students from Quimby Oak School.
