Writer Andrea Fernandez chose the library, designed by Steinberg Architects, as a building that “just might inspire you to go back to college.”
The college describes the library as having dramatic wooden structures, designed to look like branches, support the elevated ceiling and the floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light for reading and studying.
Artwork and cultural icons are displayed throughout and a separate Heritage Room stores local history collections, research and a place for small group discussions. The library also houses an educational technology center.
The Santa Clara Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects be-stowed an Honor Award on the library.
Evergreen Valley College sits on a picturesque 175-acre site along San Felipe and Yerba Buena roads and provides access to a comprehensive and flexible post-secondary education.
