Evergreen Area Police report

Fatal Traffic CollisionCapitol Expressway and Nieman Blvd.

San Jose police officers were sent to a traffic collision at Capitol Expressway and Nieman Blvd. Tuesday evening, Apr 1. Preliminary investigation indicated a pedestrian walking eastbound in a marked crossway against a red light was struck by a motorcycle. Paramedics transported the victim, Souang Athetsanathip, a 66-year-old male resident of San Jose to a local hospital where he died from the injuries. Long Phi Lu, a 25-year old male, was the driver of the motorcycle. There is no indication of drug or alcohol influence.
