Using what they call a “dedication to integrity and honesty,” the husband and wife team of Kamran Chitgar and Mojey Ghafouri are continually striving to establish themselves and their company, Coldwell Banker Platinum Group, as among San Jose’s most successful and influential realtors.
Chitgar, the company’s president and managing director of sales, has worked in residential real estate in the South Bay since 1989. Though he studied film and television directing prior to embarking on his current career, Chitgar quickly earned a name for himself among local realtors, and currently serves on the board of directors for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors.
“Our group has found success following the tradition that Coldwell Banker has built over the last 100 years,” said Chitgar. “We’ve made a commitment to being customer service oriented.”
A desire to serve clients in an ethical manner is also what motivated Ghafouri to open an office with her husband. Just six months after beginning her career as a mortgage broker in 2000, Ghafouri decided to leave her first
job.

“I didn’t want to work under the supervision or control of somebody else, especially because some of the things they were doing weren’t ethical,” said Ghafouri.
The couple began their business with much success. After launching their company with their East Valley office, located at 1066 S. White Rd., Chitgar and Ghafouri expanded their business by adding a Silver Creek office, which is located at 1630 E. Capitol Expressway. Said Ghafouri, “Our business grew bigger because we had people who were committed to doing things the right way. We earned a very good reputation.”
That reputation prompted Coldwell Banker to invite the couple to join the organization in 2005.
“Our business has continued to do well because we recruit, hire and train agents who are concerned about working within ethics and the law,” Ghafouri said.
The couple’s business has grown to include 76 agents, four brokers and six support staff.

Besides a commitment to ethical work, Ghafouri said a commitment and dedication to their clients that has helped them maintain their growth.
“I live and breathe real estate,” said Ghafouri. “My passion for the business makes it easy for me to make a full-time commitment to my clients.”
