March 18
Commercial burglary arrest
1800 Block of E. Capitol Expressway
A citizen reported seeing a suspect enter the business via a smashed window. Officers arrived and surrounded the building. The witness thought the suspect was still inside. K9 Officers were arriving when they saw the suspect crawl out of a smashed window of another restaurant 50 yards away from the first scene. The suspect was captured after a short foot pursuit. The witness identified the suspect as the same who entered the first restaurant. Evidence was recovered at the scene.
March 21
Assault on an officer
3000 block of Woods Way
Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence. When confronting the male subject he kicked an officer. The suspect was subdued and taken into custody. The officer’s injury did not require medical attention. The suspect was transported to VMC and treated. Upon his release he was booked into jail for domestic battery, battery on an officer, and resisting arrest.
