Warda Ali named ‘Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year’

| The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) selected 15-year old Warda Ali, (Silver Creek High School) as “Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year.” |
The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) selected 15-year old Warda Ali, (Silver Creek High School) as “Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year” and her teacher Edward Youngblood, (Silver Creek High School) has been selected as “Teacher of the Year” for the Bay Area region. NFTE is a global nonprofit organization that teaches entrepreneurship and business skills to low-income young people. The “Global Young Entrepreneur” and “Teacher of the Year” awards are given annually to outstanding students and teachers in 34 regions throughout the US, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
Ali and Youngblood will each receive a $1,000 cash prize to be used as working capital for Ms. Ali’s business and for professional development activities for Youngblood. They will also be flown to New York City and honored at the 15th annual “Salute to the Entrepreneurial Spirit” awards dinner on April 2, 2008.
