Evergreen Area Police report
Feb. 25 and 26
Person stabbed
3200 block of Pumpherston Way
On Feb. 25 at approximately 4 p.m., the victim and suspect got into a heated verbal argument in the patio area of the suspect’s residence. During the argument, the suspect went into the kitchen to get a kitchen knife and a butter knife. The suspect came back out and attacked the victim with the knives. The victim sustained a superficial scratch on his wrist and a cut to his jacket. The victim then went home and did not report the incident to police.
On Feb. 26 at approximately 7:40 a.m., the victim called police to report the incident. Officers responded and interviewed the victim and witnesses. The suspect was arrested at the suspect’s residence. Officers also recovered the knives.
Feb. 26
Resisting arrest / outstanding misdemeanor warrants / use of taser
1600 block of Hollowcreek Place
Officers were dispatched to the above location on a report of a suspicious person with a weapon. While officers were en route to the call, dispatch advised that the reporting party stated the Hispanic male had a stick or bat and was hitting light poles and signs. The male was also yelling “I’m going to kill him!” to someone on the phone. When police arrived they saw the male with a large pole in his hand. The male ran through the complex. When officers caught up to him they attempted to stop him, but the suspect resisted. The suspect was then tased and taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was booked into County Jail for the above listed offense.
March 3
Strong arm robbery
Capitol Expressway/Silver Creek Road
Two juveniles (16-21 years) walked up to the victim and asked him for a cigarette. The suspects punched the victim in the face with their fists and knocked the victim down. The suspects removed the victim’s wallet from his pants pocket and fled on foot westbound through the Silver Creek Mobile Home Park. The wallet contained identification and cash. The victim sustained a swollen lip and nose, but he refused medical attention.
March 4
Disturbance, vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, and hit and run
3100 Block of Linkshead Court
The victim and suspects got into an argument at the above location. It’s an ongoing dispute between the two families. The suspects vandalized the victim’s vehicle and proceeded to hit him over the head with a baseball bat. The victim’s family chased the suspects down the street with baseball bats and bricks. The suspects crashed their car into a parked vehicle as they fled the scene. Three suspects were located and arrested by the responding officers. The victim and two of the suspects sustained non-life threatening injuries. All of the injured subjects were treated and released from the local hospitals.
March 4
Unattended death
1600 Block of Tully Road – Jack in the Box
The victim was found unconscious by the employees inside the restaurant. San Jose Fire Department and paramedics responded to the scene and attempted to revive the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fire Department. There was no foul play suspected. The coroner responded to the scene and took possession of the deceased.
March 5
Assault (stabbing)
Walk-in to Kaiser Santa Teresa Emergency Room
The victim walked into the Kaiser Santa Teresa Emergency Room with stab wounds to his torso and a laceration to his head. The victim advised the assault took place at the 1800 block of Loch Ness Way. District Paul units responded to the address and located a crime scene and witnesses. The unknown suspect fled in a vehicle. The suspects are outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.
