How do you like NBC’s Olympic coverage? Is there anything you’d like to see handled differently?
(Asked at Savemart Supermarket—Aborn at White)
“I like it, they are doing a great job. I’ve watched the interviews this morning showing the ice dancing couples—the ones that fell—and there were lots of comments on their dresses. I actually don’t watch it every day, but from what I have seen they are doing a good job. My favorite is the girl’s ice skating. I will definitely watch that tomorrow night.”

“I would really like to see more of the events. So far it’s been kind of boring. But I really enjoyed the snowboarding. Everyone there is a winner in their own sport and the mistake [the U.S. women’s snowboarder made] is typical of the mistakes in life. Such things happen and it’s a good metaphor for our lives.”

“I haven’t seen it so far, I’ve been busy with other things and haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ve seen the Olympics for so many years, I’m tired of it. They have so many new sports that I’m not really interested in — things like snowboarding. But I might watch it this week.”

“I guess it’s all right. I’m not watching a lot of it so far, I’ve caught about half of it. They need to change their time schedules so that we get to watch what we want to watch. I like the races part of it, the speed skating, the downhill skiing, my wife likes the figure skating. I spent a lot of time watching curling yesterday, trying to figure it out; what they do, why they do it, and why they work so hard with those brushes.”

“I haven’t even watched it because I’ve been watching American Idol and other shows. Actually, I haven’t watched one day of it and I’m not planning to [either].”

“I haven’t watched it so far. We’ve been out of town and busy with other things, so I haven’t watched it. I’m not really in to winter sports so I probably won’t watch it anyway.”

“I haven’t even paid attention to it, I’ve been too busy.”

“I like it and I think NBC’s done a good job. If you don’t catch sports in the morning, you can catch them at night. There’s nothing I’d particularly want to see changed, they treat all the sports pretty equal. I’ve especially liked the snowboarding. There’s something new every time I turn on the television.”

“I’m not interested. I haven’t been watching. I have lots to do. [On top of that] I’m new to cable and I’ve fallen in love with the history channel. I also joined Net Flix and I’ve been watching lots of movies.”

“This is the first time I’ve ever watched the Olympics. It’s been good. I don’t like to see them talking about the personal problems of the individuals competing in the games, those kinds of things like when a person is disqualified because they [unknowingly] took a substance makes me want to turn off the TV and not watch it anymore. I really don’t like it when those people announce things that don’t pertain to the Olympics. Those people [competitors] got there because they are one of the best in their sport, they shouldn’t make such a big deal out of it.
