Snow Day
It was a snowy start to the President's Day weekend when the east hills of San Jose were dusted by snow on
Feb. 17.
On roads leading up to Mount Hamilton, up to one inch of snow was reported, as well as dusting on the summit of Highway 17, leading to Santa Cruz. The snow was the result of a bitingly cold storm system that passed through the Bay Area as it made its way toward Alaska. In addition, temperatures throughout the weekend dipped as low as 36 degrees on evenings in various parts of the south bay.
Needless to say, some south bay residents took advantage of the rare sight.
