The Safe Passage Program concluded successfully after a weeklong campaign, which ran from February 6-10. As a result of a collaborative effort involving dayshift patrol teams and TEU, 372 officers responded to conduct traffic enforcement near 220 schools throughout the city. Their school related actions resulted in 1,434 citations being issued, 539 warnings given, 49 vehicles impounded and 16 drivers arrested. In addition, four radar display trailers belonging to the City’s Department of Transportation and two radar display trailers assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit were deployed at 25 schools throughout the city.
