Where’s Sophie?
Sophie the Beagle is still missing. It’s been over a month since she took off from her pet sitter’s house at Leland & Scott Avenue in the Burbank Area of San Jose and her owners are heartsick.
 |
Her owners, Ben Bard and Rachel Boltz, were on a belated honeymoon when she escaped —they received the phone call only 24 hours into their vacation and immediately returned home to search for her. Since then they have searched day and night, written newspaper ads, registered on Web sites, visited shelters, had thousands of fliers delivered and posted and even driven around with 30 bacon cheeseburgers hanging outside their car! You get the picture…this is one special dog.
Sophie was Rachel’s wedding gift to Ben. It was the beagle he had always wanted. She was only ten days old then and fit into the palm of his hand. Sophie celebrated her first birthday a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately she was away from home.
Sophie is a 16 pound, tricolor (black, tan and white) female beagle. She is microchipped and was wearing a black leather collar with tags when she disappeared. Though she is friendly, she scares easily, but can be coaxed with
food.
She has been spotted in various locations including: Davis & Dana Ave., Park & Naglee Ave., and Taylor & 18th Street near Watson Park. A substantial cash reward is being offered to anyone who has her or knows where she is located. Sophie’s owners will ask no questions, they just want her home.
If you have any information please call Ben Bard at (408) 368-1774 or email sophie@bbard.net.
