Evergreen Area Police report

Jan. 30
Use of Force
1500 Block of Flanigan Drive
Officers responded to weapons disturbance where a mentally disturbed 40-year old female adult armed with a weapon and was exhibiting violent behavior. The female was disarmed after being struck in the abdomen with a 40mm round and safely taken into custody. She was treated for a circular bruise to her abdomen by AMR then transported to a local hospital where she was placed on a 72-hour hold.

Jan. 30
Coroners Case
1800 Block of Daniel Maloney Drive
The 71-year old male victim was found in his residence unconscious and nonresponsive by family members. Fire and Paramedics responded to resuscitate him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was currently being treated by a physician for diabetes. The Coroner’s office was notified and released the case after contacting the physician. Day Detective and Area Commander were advised.

Jan. 30
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
2600 Block of Puccini Avenue
The 17-year old male victim was driven to a local hospital by his mother with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound. The hospital personnel notified the police. VCET and Night Detectives investigated. No suspect(s) are in custody.

Feb. 2
Homicide
Tully Road & Capitol Expressway
San Jose Police Officers responded to Tully Road and Capitol Expressway on reports of shots fired. Officers arrived and located the victim in a parking lot on the S/E corner of the intersection. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he died a short time later. The victim has been identified as Rogelio “Roy” Silva, a 17-year old San Jose resident.

No motive has been established for this case. The investigation is ongoing.
