House fire on Mt. Pleasant Road Jan. 22

Firefighters from nearby Engine 21, as well as five other companies, responded to a house fire on Mt. Pleasant Road on Jan. 22.

According to Captain Alberto Olmos of the San Jose Fire Department, both the Hillview Airport flight tower and the Engine 21 station first reported the fire at approximately 2:38 p.m.

Olmos described the blaze as a “heavily involved house fire,” which rendered the front of the home unstable after a total of 29 firefighters worked to extinguish it.

Olmos added that fire investigators had not established the cause of the fire at press time.
