SIRS Spotlight member of the month

Dennis Sheehan, Little SIR, (left) congratulates Mike Lowney who was highlighted as the Spotlight Member of the Month at the luncheon meeting of the Sons in Retirement (SIRS) Branch 114, at the Clubhouse at the Villages on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Lowney is a native of Butte, Montana. His teaching and coaching career at Bellarmine Prep in San Jose spanned 36 years. He taught biology and chemistry, and served as Science Department Head. His Junior Varsity Football Teams had many undefeated seasons, and in 1997 he was inducted into the Bellarmine Prep Athletic Hall of Fame. Photo/Caption by Thom Harney.


Parsons brings feathered friend to SIRS meeting

“I have always loved animals, especially birds, large birds,” said Cathy Parsons, shown with Triton, her sulfur-crested Cockatoo after both spoke to the members and guests at the luncheon meeting of the Sons in Retirement (SIRS), Branch 114, at the Clubhouse at the Villages on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
