Friday open house will turn you red

Bring your children for a taste of Chinese New Year at Morninglight Afterschool Open House Friday, Jan. 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The children prepare to present Chinese New Year talent dressed in smiles and costume.

The children will take charge. Come and see folk dancing, choir song, Chinese poetry reading, Opera, kung fu demonstrations and a display of many fun learning activities. Parents will have the opportunity to advance reserve space for spring and summer sessions too! Limited space available.

This is the Chinese Year of the Ox that allegedly brings good luck to everyone! People born in this year are said to be very dependable, great organizers, loyal and patient as well as strong and responsible. Red is the traditional celebration color and children are given “lucky money” in red envelopes as part of ancient tradition.

The State-licensed Morninglight Afterschool at Grace Church provides diverse learning opportunities and homework assistance to children from all cultures and traditions between the ages of 5-12.
