As vice president, Adams oversees development, alumni relations and marketing/communications for Bellarmine.

“I’m delighted to be working with the great team of professionals at Bellarmine,” said Adams. “My two sons have benefited greatly from their Bellarmine experience, and my new role provides me an opportunity to give back to the Bellarmine community.”

Adams brings more than two decades of media experience and community leadership expertise to Bellarmine, including roles in local broadcast journalism, public relations and marketing and 18 years of teaching in Santa Clara University’s Communication Department.

The third-generation San Jose resident is a graduate of San Jose State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/Television Broadcasting and a Master of Science degree in Mass Communications. Adams currently serves on the boards of the American Cancer Society Santa Clara County Unit, Friends of Guadalupe River Park and Gardens and YWCA of Silicon Valley. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of San Jose.

An active family in the Bellarmine community, Adams and his wife, Gina, a past co-chair of the school’s annual Fashion Show for Financial Aid and member of Bellarmine’s Alumni Mothers’ Extended Network, are parents to Nicholas and Jeffrey, Bellarmine classes of 2003 and 2006, respectively.

“I believe Brian will make his mark on Bellarmine’s future and will greatly advance the work of the school during these critical years as the school positions itself in the 21st century,” said Fr. Paul G. Sheridan, president of Bellarmine.

Adams succeeds Jeff Shilling, who left Bellarmine in November for a fund raising position at Stanford University’s Athletics department.

Bellarmine College Preparatory, a Jesuit secondary school located in San Jose, California, has been educating young “men for others” in the Jesuit tradition of St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, since 1851.
