| Paving, Resurfacing to cause temporary woes |
Expect delays along Silver Creek
Valley Road

Beginning in early September, traffic along Silver Creek Valley Road from Yerba Buena to Hellyer will be disrupted due to paving and resurfacing activities until December. Most of the work will be done Monday through Friday between 8:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon.
The construction may require lane closures temporarily and the use of alternate routes. Granite Construction, the project contractor, will be sending letters to residents and businesses affected by the work activity.

Air car of 1932 reborn with high tech engineering
Vehicle currently in development requires no fuel, batteries

In 1932, J.M. Custer of Piggott, Ark. had an idea for a car that would run on compressed air.
He not only built the car, but it actually ran. He used an engine that was the result of six years of research by Roy J. Meyers, which resembled a radial airplane motor in appearance. It was mounted upright in the same space occupied by gasoline motors in standard cars.
